The position of the vehicle is tracked continuously by the navigation processor of the radio and navigation unit (A2/56) using the data from the CD read in. In the event of deviations in the course traveled from the calculated route the position coordinates of the basic position finding are corrected.
Map-based position finding is only available in the digitized area of the CD read in. Any deviation can be recognized and corrected automatically by comparing the calculated position of the vehicle with the data on the CD read in.
