Attaching the portable navigation unit

Install
Insert portable navigation unit straight into the holder provided for the device.

Removal
Press release button on underside of holder. Swivel portable navigation unit forward and remove upwards.






Possible problems during commissioning and their remedies

1 Portable navigation unit not receiving any satellite signals.
Take portable navigation unit into the open, away from high buildings and trees. A bar display in the top left-hand corner of the screen shows the strength of the satellite signal. It can take 30 to 60 seconds to pick up the satellite signals. Pressing and holding the signal strength display causes the "Shown satellites" menu to appear.

2 Telephone cannot establish a connection to the "portable navigation unit (MB Streetpilot II Plus only).
Check whether the "Bluetooth" box has been activated on the portable navigation unit.
Check whether the mobile phone is switched on and is less than 10 meters away from the portable navigation unit.

3 Audio is not output over the vehicle speakers.
Check in the Audio menu if the radio output has been set (e.g. Audio 5). �n the Audio menu, check if the muting value has been set to "Mute all".

4 The navigation announcements are issued in "truncated" form in Audio 20.
Check whether the Audio menu has the "Audio 20" output device configured.

5 A TMC symbol is not shown on the main menu.
The TMC symbol only appears when messages are received. Check, whether the TMC receiver has been detected, the "Functions/Settings" menu must display a "TMC receiver" symbol.
