GF91.16-P-0001PP Retractable Rear Head Restraints (RHR), Function

Component Identification:

Function requirements:
^ No overvoltage or undervoltage
^ Circuit 15 ON or
^ Circuit 15R ON

Function
By folding down the rear head restraints, the driver is able to create unimpeded visibility through the rear window as needed.

This function occurs pneumatically using vacuum control.

If the rear head restraints switch (N72/1s4) in the upper control panel control module (N72/1) is pressed, the rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2) receives the message via CAN-class B to fold down the rear head restraints and relays this message to the head restraint release valve (Y24/1) as an electrical signal. Then the head restraint release valve (Y24/1) switches the vacuum through to the pneumatic actuators of the head restraints and the head restraints fold downward.
