Headlamp Alignment Control Module: Service and Repair



AR82.10-P-4000P Remove/Install Headlamp Range Adjustment Control Module
- except CODE (614) Bi-Xenon headlamp unit
- except CODE (612) Xenon headlamp unit

DANGER:
Risk of explosion from explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injure through burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries
- No fire, sparks, naked flames or smoking.
- Wear protective gloves, acid-resistant clothing and safety glasses. Pour battery electrolyte only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.


1 Disconnect ground cable of battery
2 Remove light switch module (S1)
3 Remove cover below instrument panel (left)
4 Remove door sill molding (11)
5 Remove edge guard (12) in area of A-pillar paneling
6 Unclip cap from A-pillar cover (14)
7 Unscrew bolt (13)
8 Unclip A-pillar cover (14), remove
9 Open cable duct on entry panel
10 Disconnect pneumatic connector (3)

CAUTION: Careful, risk of cracks and fracture.

11.1 Disconnect pneumatic connector (5a)

12 Disconnect pneumatic connector (5b)

CAUTION: Careful, risk of cracks and fracture.

13 Expose pneumatic lines
14 Remove headlamp range controller (1)
15 Install in the reverse order
16 Perform basic programming

NOTE: Only if no quiescent current retention device has been used.

17 Read diagnostic trouble code memory and erase
18 Check for proper function
