Display of the service to be performed
The particular type of service to be performed (A or B) appears in addition to the service displays.
To this end, the service symbol (wrench) is shown once or twice on the display.
The service symbol appears in the case of:
- Service A, once
- Service B, 2 times

Service A is basically followed by service B.
Following a service B, the following service must be calculated under consideration of the kilometer readings. If the distance covered in the current interval is less than 22,000 km, this is followed by service A, otherwise by service B.
This calculation is carried out automatically in the instrument cluster (A1). In the service sheet, the displayed service A or B can be processed without calculation of the path.

Service indicator can be called up by driver
- Ignition key (models 208, 210) or transmitter key (A8/1) (models 203, 215, 220) in position "circuit 15R ON", "circuit 15 ON" or when vehicle is driving.
- Press the system selection button (S110s3) repeatedly until the multifunction display (A1p13) shows the basic display (total and trip odometer) (only necessary if basic display is not yet shown).
- Press the scroll forward/back button (S110s1) until the service symbol and the current remaining distance, remaining time or service exceeded are displayed.

Automatic service indicator
- If the warning threshold has been reached
- 5 s after the ignition key (models 208, 210) or transmitter key (A8/1) (models 203, 215, 220) was turned into position "circuit 15 ON" or the engine was started.
- After the remaining distance has been reached
