GF82.70-P-2007PM Switch Telephone On/off Characteristics, Function

MODEL 203.0 /2 /7 as of 24.4.04
- with CODE (388) Telephone "Handy", UPCI system
- up to Model Year 8

ON/off characteristics
The Universal Portable CTEL Interface (UPCI) system is activated using the on/off button on the portable CTEL (A34/6) or the activation takes place automatically through a wake-up pulse via the Media Oriented System Transport (MOST) on activation of circuit 15.

Before the Universal Portable CTEL Interface system can be started up, it must be logged into the respective telephone network. The Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) on the SIM card is needed to do this. After inserting and activating the SIM card the user must enter the 4 to 8-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN) when requested to do so.

This PIN prevents unauthorized use of the SIM card and therefore protects against misuse.

The SIM card is locked after 3 incorrect entries. The Personal Unblocking Key (PUK), an 8-digit number code, can be used to deactivate the access prevention. This allows entry of a new PIN number. If the PUK is entered incorrectly 10 times in succession, the SIM card can no longer be used and a new SIM card must be applied for from the service provider. If the PIN is entered correctly, the portable CTEL (A34/6) logs into the respective service provider network and is ready for use.

Switch off characteristics
The Universal Portable CTEL Interface is deactivated using the on/off button on the portable CTEL (A34/6) or the deactivation takes place automatically after the run-on time that can be set individually on the portable CTEL (A34/6).

Switching off system
The portable CTEL (A34/6) is decommissioned by operating the on/ off button on the portable CTEL (A34/6) and removing the SIM card.

The SIM card must only be removed if the portable CTEL (A34/6) has been switched off in order to protect the SIM on the SIM card. When the portable CTEL (A34/6) is switched on again, the PIN has to be reentered.
