AZ82.70-P-0005-02PBP Retrofit Hands-free System Wiring Harness
With Comand
1 Expose connection for telephone handset (A34) in radio recess.
2 Connect antenna for the telephone handset (A34) to the antenna line of the PSC adapter.
Use the antenna adapter enclosed if necessary (depends on the vehicle version).
3 Connect VDA connection line (5) to the interface box for the hands-free system (3).
4 Route the connection line (5) from the interface box for the hands-free system (3) as shown in the Figure to the exposed CTEL separation point for the portable CTEL (X39/37) into the radio recess and connect.
Fasten wiring harness with adhesive felt.
5 Disconnect standard production coupling chamber A and B on the COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3) and connect to the voltage supply wiring harness. Connect intermediate coupling from the wiring harness (20) to the radio.
5 VDA connection lead
6 Prepare CAN wiring harness (4) as shown in the Figure.
2 ICANI box
7 ICANI connection coupling
11 Adapter
12 Coupling housing (for modifying the standard production wiring harness)
A40/3 COMAND operating, display and control module
7 Connect CAN wiring harness (4) to ICANI box (2) and connect the ICANI connection coupling (7) to the free coupling of the interface box for the hands-free system (3).
8 Route CAN wiring harness (4) to the radio recess fasten with adhesive felt.
9 Disconnect the standard production coupling from the COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3) and detach coupling housing from the contact carrier (A). Mount the new coupling housing (12) (contained in the kit) on the standard production wiring harness. Insert contact carrier (A) in the new coupling housing (12). Provide contact carrier (B) of the CAN wiring harness (4) with the remaining coupling housing.
10 Connect standard production coupling with the plug (11) from the CAN wiring harness CAN (4).
11 Provide intermediate coupling from CAN wiring harness (4) with the remaining coupling housing and connect to the COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3).
12 Connect microphone wiring harness (22) to the connection coupling (MIC) in the radio recess and route under the glove box to the right A-pillar and from there upwards to the roof liner and fasten with adhesive tape.
On vehicles with head airbag when routing at the upper A-pillar, ensure that routing takes place in front of the tensioning strap of the head airbag (towards the windshield).
13 Stick microphone (6) to the mirror base with double-sided adhesive tape (contained in the parts kit) and connect.
Align microphone so that pickup opening points towards driver.
B25 Hands-free microphone
14 Connect hands-free speaker (21) to the connection plug and route to the cover for the front passenger knee bolster. Install speaker at the predetermined point.
Use commercially available screws for the installation.
