Repair Materials:

Component Identification:

1 Using paint masking tape, mask off outer trunk lid area where dia. (A) bore will be drilled as per picture (see arrow).
2 From inside of trunk lid, drill bore with dia. (A) as per picture in center of round breakthrough in reinforcement plate through trunk lid outer panel.

When making the hole with (A), make sure that the trunk lid outer panel is not deformed and no other components are damaged. Remove metal shavings using vacuum cleaner.

3 Deburr bore with dia. (A) and seal on inside and outside using zinc dust paint.

Areas to be sealed must be dry and free of grease and dust. The following operation steps can only be performed after the zinc dust paint has dried.

Component Identification:

4 Remove protective foil from double-sided adhesive tape of fitting sleeve (3) (see arrow in enlarged detail).
5 Insert fitting sleeve (3) as per picture from inside of trunk lid into bore and glue on.

Bonding surface must be dry and free of grease and dust.

6 Loosen expansion bolt (4) of SDAR antenna (2) until antenna base is loose.

7 Insert SDAR antenna plug (6) with SDAR antenna line (5) from outside through fitting sleeve in trunk lid.
8 Insert antenna base of SDAR antenna (2) into fitting sleeve and align straight area of SDAR antenna (2) as per picture in direction of travel (see arrow).
9 Tighten expansion bolt (4) of SDAR antenna (2) until antenna base is tensioned enough so that the SDAR antenna (2) is firmly flush against the trunk lid and is secured.

The SDAR antenna plug (6) will be connected to the SDAR antenna extension line at a later stage.
