- with CODE (388) "Portable CTEL" UPCI telephone system
An incoming telephone call is accepted via the accept/terminate phone call button (S111s3) on the multifunction steering wheel (MFL). As with activation of the voice control system (VCS) here the radio component of the audio system is also muted in order to bring about as undistorted user voice input as possible. The user then has the option of immediately taking the phone call received using the hands-free system microphone group (A67).
In the process the VCS voice output takes place via the following speakers of the audio system:
^ Left front door loudspeaker (H4/1)
^ Right front door loudspeaker (H4/2)
^ Left rear door loudspeaker (H4/5)
^ Right rear door loudspeaker (H4/6)
^ Left front door mirror triangle speaker H4/23
^ Right front door mirror triangle speakerH4/24
For echo compensation the VCS needs the data from the System Universal Handy Interface (UHI) which is made available to the VCS via the Media Oriented System Transport (MOST). The processed and digitized data from the hands-free system microphone group (A67b1) is read in by the VCS and made available on the MOST. They can be read in by the Universal Portable CTEL Interface (UPCI [UHI]) control unit (N123/1).
In order to achieve very good quality for hands-free the UHI system must switch off its own processing for hands-free (echo compensation, pedal balance and noise reduction).
