GF27.60-P-5100-04NQ Center shifter console, function
- Transmission 722.9

The selector lever is moved and positioned in the shift gate, which is not visible to the driver. All the selector lever positions are detected by the electronic selector lever module control unit (N15/5), coded and transmitted via the Controller Area Network bus class C (engine compartment) (CAN-C) to the fully integrated transmission control (VGS) control unit (Y3/8n4).

In parallel with being transmitted via CAN C the selector lever positions "P", "R", "N" and "D" are passed on mechanically by means of a shift rod to the selection range sensor (VGS) (Y3/8s1).

The shift ranges "1", "2", "3", "4", "S" and "6", up to which the fully integrated transmission control (VGS) permits an upshift of the automatic transmission, can be shifted via a sideways movement of the selector lever in selector lever position "D" (touch shift).
