Location
The alarm signal horn is located on the left front wheelhouse.

Task
The alarm signal horn output the acoustic signals for the anti-theft alarm system (ATA)

Body
The alarm signal horn consists of:
^ Horn
^ Control electronics with data interface
^ Emergency power supply battery (rechargeable battery).

Function
The acoustic alarm is checked and output by the alarm signal horn itself The alarm request is transmitted by the rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2)

The type and duration of the alarm is programmed country specifically and stored in the alarm signal horn with additional battery.

Self-triggering alarm
If the alarm signal horn detects the loss of the power supply or the communication it automatically outputs an acoustic alarm

The alarm is not triggered in the event of a "normal" voltage drop by the vehicle battery (e.g. exterior illumination switched on).
