GF80.20-P-2006TX Close Trunk Lid, Function
- with CODE (881b) Remote trunk closing (RTC)

Component Identification:

Operating elements
^ Trunk lid open/close switch
^ RTC [HDFS] button
^ Trunk lid Keyless Go button

For safety reasons, it is not possible a remote trunk closing (RTC) via the transmitter key (A8/1).
The trunk lid can also be closed by hand. In this case, it is necessary to overcome the resistance of the trunk lid drive unit. The lockup recognition and overload protection are always active when the remote trunk closing (RTC) is in operation.

Function requirements:
^ Normalized trunk lid drive unit
^ Vehicle standing still (speed signal 0 km/h)

Function sequence with trunk lid open/close switch
When the trunk lid open/close switch on the driver door is pressed and held down, the signal is read in by the left front door control unit and transferred to the TLC control unit via the CAN B bus.
The locking eye for the power closing unit is moved to the upper end position by the power closing drive motor. The trunk lid drive motor is actuated until the signal "Rotary tumbler locked" from the pawl rotary tumbler switch is received by the TLC control unit. The locking eye for the power closing unit is moved to the upper end position by the power closing drive motor.
The indicator LED in the trunk lid open/close switch is switched off. The specific end position of the locking eye is determined by the power closing "closed" limit switch or the power closing "open" limit switch.
The up and down motion of the locking eye is controlled by the TLC control unit.

When the trunk lid open/close switch is released, the trunk lid drive motor is stopped immediately; when it is pressed again and held, the interrupted operation is continued.

Function sequence via trunk lid Keyless Go button
The trunk lid Keyless Go button is read in discreetly by the TLC control unit.
The function sequence is the same as the "Function sequence via RTC button", however, in addition, the central locking (CL) is actuated and the vehicle is locked completely.

When the trunk lid Keyless Go button is pressed again, the trunk lid drive motor is stopped immediately; when it is pressed again, the interrupted operation is continued.
When a remote control key is recognized in the passenger compartment, the remote trunk closing (RTC) closes the trunk, however, the vehicle is not locked.
