GF82.70-P-2008TX Telephone Call Build Up/Termination, Function

Function requirements:
^ Voltage supply OK
^ Media Oriented System Transport bus (MOST) active.
^ Portable CTEL (A34/6) inserted into UPCI portable CTEL holder (Universal Portable CTEL Interface) (A34/15).
^ Enabled SIM card inserted into portable CTEL.
^ Correct PIN entry and required log-on into respective network of service provider.

Placing a call
^ After entering the desired phone number or selection of a stored phone number using the keyboard on the portable CTEL and then pressing the "Accept phone call" button, the call connection is setup.
^ After entering the desired phone number or selection of a stored phone number by way of the keyboard on the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) for code (352) COMAND operating and display system and then pressing the "Accept phone call" button, the call is setup.
^ By using the multifunction steering wheel (MFL), the telephone book can be selected using the system selection button (S110s3) and a stored telephone number selected using the scroll forward/back button (S110s1). The call is then setup using the accept/terminate phone call button (S111s3).
^ After pressing the VCS [SBS] switch (S93/2) for code (813) Voice control system (VCS [SBS]) the telephone call can be setup by voice command.

The Universal Portable CTEL Interface (UPCI) system enables telephone calls to be made with the portable CTEL in the holder using the hands-free system. A "private mode" is not possible.

The stored phone numbers are located either on the SIM card or in the telephone's own memory.
If an audio source (e.g. the radio (A2) is active at the start of a call, irrespective of whether it is an incoming or outgoing call, then it is muted. When muting occurs, the message "CALL" appears, e.g. in the radio display (A2) or in the multifunction display (A1p13) in the instrument cluster (A1).

Terminating a call
There are several ways for a user to terminate a call:
^ By pressing the "Terminate call" button on the portable CTEL.
^ By pressing the Accept/terminate phone call button (S111s3) on the multifunction steering wheel.
^ For code (813) Voice control system (VCS [SBS]) through speech output by way of specific commands, e.g. "Cancel", or by pressing the VCS [SBS] switch (S93/2).
^ By pressing the "Terminate call" button on the radio. By pressing the "Terminate call" button on the COMAND system.
