GF82.61-P-0003-01TX Audio 50 APS, Function, Volume/Tone Settings
- with CODE (525) MB Audio 50 APS radio

All volume and sound adjustments are performed by the radio control panel and navigation unit (A2/56) and transmitted to the audio gateway control unit (N93/1). It is necessary to differentiate between audio sources and service sources.Audio sources:
^ CD drive
^ Radio

Service sources:
^ Announcement of the traffic information radio channel
^ Telephone

Volume setting
The volume of whatever audio source is set can be adjusted using the rotary/pushbutton switch on the radio control panel and navigation unit (A2/56).

In addition, the volume can be adjusted separately in all the audio and service areas (e.g. telephone, traffic information radio channel). The volume of the traffic information can be increased or decreased using the "Volume" button.
Using the "Reset" function, predefined settings for all sound parameters, including volume, can be selected and reset to the manufacturer default settings.

Speed-dependent volume control
The volume is adapted in accordance with the background noise inside the vehicle via the speed-dependent volume control and the automatic vehicle interior noise adaptation. In the process the vehicle speed signal and signal input to the sound amplifier microphone (B25/6) are used as a relationship indicator.

Reducing the volume
If the user presses the "Mute" function key, the audio source currently being listened to is muted and the CD drive is switched to a pause status. The muting function status can also be triggered automatically. The radio control panel and navigation unit (A2/56) switches to telephone mode in the event of a call and the audio source is muted.

Tone setting
The radio control panel and navigation unit (A2/56) allows manual tone settings to be made (bass, treble, balance, fader) for each audio source. The "Audio" function can be called up from all other functions, except the "Auto-On" function. The first tone adjustment shown on the display is the bass.

By pressing the "Audio" function key repeatedly, the other tone controls for treble, balance (left and right), and fader (front and rear), as well as volume increase and traffic announcements can be called up. The messages are displayed on the screen of the radio control panel and navigation unit (A2/56) in the "Audio" setting. The volume control always refers to the function that is currently active. When sound emphasis changes (balance, fading) the ratio of the volume of the individual speakers changes. The "Balance" and "Fading" adjustments can be changed by pressing the main function key for sound distribution in the left control panel. The signal processing required for the volume and tone settings is carried out by the audio gateway control unit (N93/1).
