1.1. Cut out inner center section (2) on left and right in preembossed recesses with suitable tool (magnified section, left figure).

2.1. Clip bracket (4) into inner center section (2)

Perform steps 1.1 and 2.1 only when installing new inner center section (2).







3. Glue heavy foil (3) onto AMG rear apron in center along stays (S) as shown in figure.
4. Clip inner center section (2) into retaining lugs of AMG rear apron (1) (arrows).
5. Fasten inner center section (2) to inner sections outside on left and right of AMG rear apron (1).

For this purpose, tighten bolts (5) and then loosen one half turn.It should be possible to move the inner center section (2) in the retaining lugs.







6. Insert 2 brackets (6) each into mounts of outer inner section (10) on left and right.

Observe recesses in mounts for brackets (6).

7. Rivet the 4 holders (6) and the two left and right outer inner sections (10) with aluminum blind rivets (arrows, left figure).
8. Install retaining lug (8) on left and right on bumper (1) with aluminum blind rivets (arrows, right figure).
9. Check whether one sealing washer (7) each is installed on the brackets (4) and (6), if necessary install sealing washer (7).







10. Apply hot melt adhesive to straight surface of impact absorber (21) included and glue one impact absorber (21) each into left and right inside of AMG rear apron (1).

IMPORTANT: The wide front of the wedge-shaped impact absorber (21) should point in the direction of the wheelhouse as seen from the top.

The installation position of the inner side of the AMG apron (1) is already marked.

11. Fasten guide rails (9) on left and right of AMG rear apron (1) with plastic rivet (22).

Guide rails (9) are different for left and right side.


Component Identification:






Only on vehicles with Keyless Go (code 889) and Parktronic system (PTS) (code 220)

12.1. Route wiring harness (19) for Parktronic or Keyless Go as shown in figure and clip into brackets (arrows).

Only on vehicles with Parktronic system (PTS) (code 220)

13.1. Clip Parktronic sensors into brackets of AMG rear apron (1) (bottom magnified section, left) and connect.

Ensure that a decoupling ring (23) is installed on each Parktronic sensor.

Only on vehicles with Keyless Go (code 889)

14.1. Clip rear bumper antenna (A2/31) into center inner section (2) and connect.







15. Clean contact surface for paneling (1) on AMG rear apron (1).

The area to be glued on the AMG rear apron (1) should be free of dust and grease.For cleaning, use mixture of IPA (Isopropanol alcohol) and water with a ratio of 50 : 50.

16. Position paneling (11) in center in end pipe cutouts, glue into embossment and press on firmly over entire surface

17. Hook tow eye cover (12) into AMG rear apron (1) with check strap (13) and clip in.
