Component Identification:

Location
The rear interior lamp is in the center of the headliner.

Design
The rear interior lamp contains the following components:
^ Interior protection sensor (E15/3b2)
(with code (882) interior monitoring (only with ATA))
^ Left reading lamp (E15/3e1)
^ Right reading lamp (E15/3e2)
^ Dome lamp (E15/3e3)
^ Light ring (E15/3e4)
^ Interior protection sensor motor (E15/3m1)
(with code (882) interior monitoring (only with ATA))
^ Left reading lamp switch (E15/3s1)
^ Right reading lamp switch (E15/3s2)
^ Dome lamp dimmer button (+) (E15/3s4)
^ Dome lamp dimmer button (-) (E15/3s5)

Function
The left reading lamp can be switched on and off using the left reading lamp switch and the right reading lamp can be switched on and off using the right reading lamp switch.

The brightness of the light ring can be increased using the dome lamp dimmer button (+) and reduced using the dome lamp dimmer button (-).
The rear interior lamp is connected via a bidirectional interface to the overhead control panel control unit (N70), which actuates the interior protection sensor, the interior protection sensor motor, the dome lamp and the light ring in the rear interior lamp.
