GF82.10-P-3004TX High-Beam Actuation, Function
GF82.10-P-3004TX High-Beam Actuation, Function
- except CODE (615) Bi-xenon headlamp unit with integrated cornering lamps
Component Identification:
Function requirements
^ Circuit 15R ON
^ Exterior lamp switch in "Low beam" position (with high beam function)
High beam function
The headlamp flasher/high beam switch is switched to "High beam" position.
The steering column module detects the switch position of "High beam" and over CAN-B sends the "High beam On" signal to the following control units:
^ Driver-side SAM control unit
^ Passenger-side SAM control unit
^ Instrument cluster
The driver-side SAM control unit actuates the left high beam in the left front lamp unit (E1). The front passenger-side SAM control unit actuates the right high beam in the right front lamp unit (E2). The instrument cluster actuates the blue high beam indicator lamp and thus visually signals that the high beam is switched on.
Headlamp flasher function
When operating the headlamp flasher the function sequence and signal flow is the same as when actuating the high beam. The difference between the headlamp flasher and high beam lies in the switch position of the headlamp flasher/high beam switch. This must be drawn in the directly opposite direction to the "Headlamp flasher" position and held there. The headlamp flasher and thus the high beam remain active for as long as the headlamp flasher/ high beam switch is held in the "Headlamp flasher" position.
The headlamp flasher functionality is irrespective of the position of the exterior lamp switch.
