GF40.15-P-2004TXU Detecting Rapid Pressure Loss, Function

GF40.15-P-2004TXU Detecting rapid pressure loss, function
- with CODE (470) Tire pressure monitor (base)
- with CODE (494) USA version

Function
If a continued pressure loss is determined in a particular period of time (gradient), a tire defect must be assumed. In this case a warning is triggered before the triggering criterion for the hard warning is even reached. As a rule the warning ensues at the latest 60 seconds after the start of a pressure loss of more than 0.2 bar/min and is displayed in the multifunction display (A1p13) in the instrument cluster (A1) as a warning message (red) "Caution, tire defect".

Cancelation condition
Due to a new initia1startup of the vehicle the warning can be canceled by a successful filling detection or by manual reactivation. With an ignition restart after a leak warning the tire pressure monitor warning lamp (A1e66) in the instrument cluster is actuated first. If new pressure values exist after the start of a journey and no warning criterion is met, the tire pressure monitor warning lamp is switched off and the warning information is canceled. The warning is canceled by successful filling detection or manual reactivation.
