Component Identification:

Location
The steering column module (N80) is located at the steering column.

General
The steering column module is connected to the Controller Area Network bus class B (interior) (CAN-B), Controller Area Network bus class C (engine compartment) (CAN-C) and local interconnect network (LIN) for data exchange.
The communication between the multifunction steering wheel and steering column module takes place via the LIN.

Task
The steering column module reads in the following sensors, signals and switches, controls if necessary their function illumination and switch and controls illumination and switches the following displays.
