GF82.30-P-0003TX Wiper System (WSA), Function

General information
Operation is accomplished centrally via the combination switch (S4). The selected wiper level is transmitted by the steering column module (N80) via Controller Area Network bus class B (interior) (CAN-B). The driver-side SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) takes over the actuation of the wiper motor (M6/1).

The wiper system provides the following functions:
^ Windshield wiping
^ Wiper operation suppression
^ Wiper system automatic speed reduction
^ Washer nozzle heater
(up to 31.5.06 (not United States Of America or Japan) or up to 30.6.06 (only United States Of America or Japan) standard, as of 1.6.06 (not United States Of America or Japan) or as of 1.7.06 (only United States Of America or Japan) with code (875) Heated windshield washer system)
^ Washer nozzle hose heater
(with code (875) heated windshield washer system)
^ Windshield wash
Vehicles with code (600) Headlamp cleaning system: With switched on low beams and a specific number of operations of the windshield washer system, the headlamp cleaning system (HCS [SRA]) is automatically actuated.

Windshield wiper control
The antilock device, the blockage detection, the braking and stopping of the wiper arms in the end position are carried out independently by the wiper motor and the driver-side SAM control unit.

If the wiper arm is not in the basic position when the request is switched off, then the actuation continues until the park position is reached.
