GF07.16-P-2002P CDI Idle Speed, Function

GF07.16-P-2002P CDI Idle Speed, Function

The following are some of the functions that are active when the engine is on idle:
- Fuel supply, to provide the correct quantity of fuel in the current operating state
- Preinjection, to improve the exhaust emission values and reduce noise emissions
- Main injection: The main quantity calculated by the CDI control unit (N3/9) and supplied to the individual cylinders
- Idle speed control, to keep idle speed constant while taking account of the different variables
- Quantity regulation: The required injection quantity for idle is calculated and regulated by the CDI control unit, taking account of the different variables
- Shutoff control, to stop the engine when there is a "circuit 15 OFF" status
- Antiboil protection, to protect the engine from overheating
- Smooth running control, to ensure smooth engine operation
- Exhaust gas cleaning, to reduce exhaust emissions
- Intake port shutoff (EKAS), to improve the combustion process (except model 461)
- Preheating, to assist combustion and improve the exhaust emission values
- Maximum heating combustion: (from 1.6.07) on model 221, more engine heat is conducted into the coolant using a new combustion strategy. This improves the heating in the vehicle interior. For vehicles (not with code (228) stationary heater), this process replaces the stationary heater or heater booster (A6).
