GF82.70-P-3107-02T Telephone Interface, Function
The telephone interface (A34/4) is switched on and off via a discrete wake-up line. It reacts to the voltage drop (level is max. 5 V in quiescent condition) and the duration of the wake-up signal.
It is directly wired to the portable telephone bracket for voltage supply and signal transmission.
Control data received from the MOST are relayed via the telephone interface (A34/4) using discrete data lines to the connected portable CTEL (A34/6). In this way the telephone interface (A34/4) conveys the functions to be performed (e.g. dial a number) to the CTEL (A34/6) by request of the radio control panel and navigation unit (A2/56) or the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3).
Conversely, the information (caller's voice, control data) is transferred in an appropriate MOST format by the telephone interface (A34/4) and forwarded to the radio control panel and navigation unit (A2/56) or COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) for further processing. The telephone interface (A34/4) converts electrical pulses into optical pulses.
