GF88.79-P-2006T Passenger-side Exterior Rearview Mirror Park Position, Function
- with CODE (275a) Memory package (driver's seat, steering column, rearview mirrors)

Component Identification:

After the right electrically adjustable and heated exterior rearview mirror (M21/2) has moved to the park position, the driver can observe the distance between the corresponding rear wheel and curb when backing into a parking space.

Function prerequisites
^ Circuit 15 ON
^ No overvoltage or undervoltage
^ Reverse gear engaged
^ Set left or right exterior rearview mirror selection switch (S50/1s2) to the "Passenger" position
^ Position measurement values not valid
^ Manual mirror lens adjustment not active and no memory request
^ Function activated via diagnosis
^ Function activated in instrument cluster (A1)

Function
When the front right control module (N69/2) receives the message "Reverse gear engaged" via the CAN, class B bus, the right electrically adjustable and heated exterior rearview mirror (M21/2) is moved to the park position stored for the key used.

Aborting the function
The right electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/2) is automatically returned to the original position when:
^ the transmission is shifted to another drive position (after 10 s), or
^ the vehicle speed exceeds 10 km/h, or
^ the left or right exterior rearview mirror adjustment selection switch (S50/1s2) is switched to the "Driver" position.

If the right electrically adjustable and heated exterior rearview mirror (M21/2) is in the park position when circuit 15 OFF, it is moved back to the previous position when circuit is switched back on and the reverse gear no longer engages after t > 10 s. If the reverse gear is recognized when circuit 15 is switched backed on, the mirror moves to the park position associated with the remote control key used after t > 0.6 s.

The right electrically adjustable and heated exterior rearview mirror (M21/2) also returns to the original driving position when it has been adjusted manually while in the park position.

Storing park position

Function prerequisites
^ Circuit 15 or circuit 15R ON
^ Valid memory block number recognized
^ No overvoltage or undervoltage
^ Vehicle speed v = 0 km/h

It is first necessary to adjust the right electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/2) to the desired park position.

If the memory switch on the front left seat adjustment switch group is then pressed for t ≥ 40 ms, and the left or right exterior rearview mirror adjustment selection switch (S50/1s2) is then actuated within t < 3 s, the right front door control module (N69/2) stores this position as the park position.
If the desired park position is still not correct, it can be corrected with the manual mirror adjustment feature while the park position function is being executed.Storage is accomplished after completion of the manual adjustment.
