AR67.20-P-3550PA Remove/Install Rear Window







DANGER:
Risk of explosion from electrolytic gas. Risk of poisoning and irritation if battery acid is swallowed. Risk of injury through burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries
- No fire, sparks, naked flames or smoking.
- Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and eye protection. Pour battery electrolyte only into suitable and appropriately marked containers


1 Prepare glue cartridge
2 Open side window in driver's door.
3 Disconnect ground cable of battery
4 Remove rear spoiler
5 Unscrew telephone antenna
6 Remove tailgate wiper motor
7 Disconnect electrical connectors for heated window and antennas

NOTE: Fasten with adhesive tape to rear window.

DANGER:
- Risk of injury from slipping when clamping blade in the multicutter and from glass splinters when cutting out bonded windows
- Always interrupt air supply when inserting or removing blade.
- Wear protective gloves and eye protection


8 Cut out pane with cutting blade

9 Remove window from tailgate with suction cups

10 Align pane in body opening
- Gap dimensions: Distance between bottom edge of window and edge of tailgate paneling - 2 mm

11 Prepare window for installation
12 Fasten electric leads to window with adhesive tape
13 Preparing body flange for installation of window

14 Check whether silicon semi-conductors for ground connections were damaged when cutting out, replace if necessary.

CAUTION: Antennas otherwise are not operative.

15 Replace window rubber spacers on tailgate
16 Applying glue

CAUTION: Apply glue sparingly in bottom area

NOTE: Height of glue bead approx. 13 mm

17 Install glass pane

NOTE: Curing time is approx. 1 hour, measured from the time the windshield is installed

18 Connect electrical connectors for heated window and antennas
19 Install rear spoiler
20 Screw on telephone antenna
21 Install tailgate wiper motor
22 Connect ground lead to battery
23 Clean rear window
