- with CODE (813) Voice control system (VCS)
Component Identification:
Function activation
By operating the switch VCS (S93/2) in the direction of the driver the MOST (Media Oriented System Transport) activates the voice recognition of the voice control system (VCS). This is integrated into the voice control system control unit (A35/11).
Simultaneously the entire voice control system (VCS) is actuated and signals to the user by an acoustic signal (beep). In doing so, the audio sources may not be mixed. The audio channel is exclusively allocated to the voice control system (VCS). If the system is in the input mode, the hands-free system and thus the muting of the radio is active, to ensure user inputs are as authentic as possible. From this time, entry commands are available to the user which allow the user to communicate with the system via the hands-free system microphone group (A67/b1) and control system by entering commands (voice entry).
If no entry is made right away, then the hands-free system microphone group (A67/b1) is switched into a more sensitive mode. If there is still no entry, then the voice control system (VCS) is deactivated after approx. 15 s.
Accepting call
An incoming call can be received via the telephone call acceptance/end button (S111s3) at the multifunction steering wheel.
As during activation, the radio is also muted here to ensure the greatest possible stability of the user voice input.
It is also possible for the user to use the hands-free system microphone group (A67b1) for the call.
The voice output of the system is accomplished via the vehicle speakers.
For the echo compensation the voice control system (VCS) requires the data from the telephone fixed-line network side, which is provided to the voice control system (VCS) via the CAN interior. The processed and digitized microphone data is read in and provided by the voice control system (VCS) on the CAN interior. They can be read in the particular telephone control unit.
In order to achieve a very good hands-free call quality, the telephone (portable CTEL (A34/6), fixed installation telephone, etc.) has to switch off its own hands-free call processes echo compensation, noise compensator, and noise reduction).
