Removal and Replacement



AR77.21-P-0600T Remove/Install Rear Panoramic Glass Roof
- with CODE (413) Panoramic sliding roof


Illustrated On Left Side Of Vehicle With Front Glass Roof Removed:











1 Prepare glue cartridge

NOTE: Warm-up time is at least 20 minutes.

See "Commercially Available Tools - Cartridge preheater" given below.

2 Open side window in driver's door.
3 Cover rear seats and flooring to prevent them from becoming dirty
4 Remove paneling at rear panoramic glass roof (2)
5 Move panoramic roof to tilt position
6 Remove water deflector of panoramic roof
7 Pull seal (1) out of the groove (5) on the rear glass roof (2)
8 Mask off roof paneling at top, left and right using masking tape
9 Insert spacer blocks (7) into the side guide rails (6) of the outer support

10 Note the corresponding number and position of the spacer blocks (7)
11 Mark height of rear glass roof (2) with pencil (8) on spacer blocks (7).
12 Remove spacer blocks (7)
13 Determine and note gap dimension in relation to rear window (10) with feeler gage (9)

DANGER:
- Risk of injury from slipping when clamping the blade in the multicutter and from glass splinters when cutting out cemented window.
- Always interrupt air supply when inserting or removing blade.
- Wear protective gloves and eye protection.


14 Cut out rear glass roof (2)

NOTE: While doing so the rear glass roof (2) is destroyed and must be replaced.

15 Remove rear glass roof (2)
16 Prepare rear glass roof (2) for installation

17 Insert spacer blocks (7) again into the side guide rails (6)

NOTE: Insert spacer blocks (7) into the previously noted positions.

18 Apply glue for rear glass roof (2)

CAUTION: The rear glass roof (2) must be fitted within five minutes, otherwise the adhesive force of the glue starts to decrease.

19 Insert and lower rear glass roof (2) with suction cup between the spacer blocks (7)

20 Align rear glass roof (2) by pressing in relation to the marks on the spacer blocks (7) and simultaneously adjust the gap with respect to the rear window (10)

CAUTION: In order to prevent adhesion faults, a curing time of approx.two hours must be observed.

21 Remove spacer blocks (7)

22 Remove suction cup from rear glass roof (2)

23 Remove masking tape at the side paneling
24 Insert seal (1) at side into the groove (5)

NOTE: Align recess clearances (3, 4) of seal (1) in relation to the corresponding points on the rear glass roof (2).

25 Fold lip of rear window (10) upward at the edge of the rear glass roof (2)

26 Install water deflector of panoramic roof
27 Install paneling at rear panoramic glass roof (2)
28 Remove cover on rear seat and floor
29 Close panoramic roof
30 Check all gap dimensions at panoramic roof

Gap dimension
- Height adjustment wind deflector/front glass roof: 1 (± 1) mm
- Height adjustment front glass roof/rear glass roof: 1 (± 1) mm
- Height adjustment rear glass roof/rear window: 5 (± 1) mm
- Wind deflector/front glass roof: 1 (± 1) mm
- Rear glass roof/rear window: 5 (± 1) mm

NOTE: Adjust front glass roof if necessary.
