The UPCI [UHI] (Universal Portable Cell Phone Interface) control unit transfers the signals onto the Media Oriented System Transport (MOST).
- As of 1.6.09: COMAND controller unit
The COMAND controller unit transfers the signals onto MOST.
The audio tuner control unit (N93/1) receives the ringing tone and sends the signal to the speaker system.
At the same time it reduces the volume of the currently active audio source (e.g. the radio) by L = 15 dB. The audio source is not muted until the user accepts the call.
Up to 31.5.09:
- Call recognition is output on the COMAND display (A40/8) and the multifunction display (A1p13).
As of 1.6.09

In vehicles with code (813) Voice control system (VCS [SBS]) the microphone signals are processed first in the voice control system (VCS [SBS]) control unit (N41/3). Voice output takes place over the speaker system installed in the vehicle.
