- with CODE (402) Rear deluxe seats, including seat heating and seat ventilation
Component Identification:
Function
With the seat ventilation integrated in the driver/front passenger seats and in the rear outer seats, it is possible to ventilate the seat cushions and the backrests in three ventilation stages.
The seat ventilation switch in the respective door panel is used to switch the seat ventilation on and off and to regulate the ventilation output.
Every actuation of the seat ventilation switch is read in by the respective door control unit and transmitted via the interior CAN to the left front seat control unit, right front seat control unit or rear seats control unit. They actuate the respective associated blower regulator. As a result, the blower regulators actuate the associated motor groups with the desired seat ventilation output.
Function requirements:
^ C. 15R On
Switch seat ventilation on and over
The feedback of the set ventilation output takes place via three blue LEDs in the seat ventilation switch.
^ When the seat ventilation switch is pressed one time, stage 3 of the seat ventilation is activated. All 3 LEDs are actuated by the door control unit in the heated seat switch.
^ When the seat ventilation switch is pressed again, stage 2 is selected. 2 LEDs are actuated by the door control unit in the heated seat switch.
^ When the seat ventilation switch is pressed once more, stage 1 is selected. 1 LED is actuated by the door control unit in the heated seat switch.
During comfort opening with the transmitter key (A8/1) (infrared signal), the seat ventilation of the driver seat is switched on in stage 3 for 5 min.
Operate passenger seat ventilation from the driver seat (with code (275) Memory package (driver seat, steering column, mirrors))
The seat adjustment selection switch in the left front seat operation switch group (S22) can be used to switch over the functions between driver and passenger seat adjustment.
The seat ventilation is also part of the functions that can be switched over. The switchover is active for 10 s after pressing the seat adjustment selection switch. This status is indicated by an LED.
If an adjustment is made during this time, the switchover remains active for another 10 s after the adjustment has been completed. The switchover is also terminated when the seat adjustment selection switch is pressed again.
Manual seat ventilation cutout
The seat ventilation can be switched off manually by pressing the seat ventilation switch.
To do this, the particular seat ventilation switch has to be pressed until all LEDs have gone out.
The seat ventilation can be switched on, over or off at any time by pressing the respective seat ventilation switch.
Automatic seat ventilation cutout
The seat ventilation is switched off automatically, if one of the following criteria has been met:
^ Switching off as under terminal 15R OFF
If circuit 15C remains On, the timer control continues to run for 5 min. If circuit 15R is switched on again, the seat ventilation is also switched on in the stage that is active according to the timer control.
^ Switching off in the event of undervoltage
The timer control continues to run if the seat ventilation is switched off due to undervoltage. The LEDs are flashing while undervoltage is present.
^ Switching off in the event of overvoltage
The timer control continues to run if the seat ventilation is switched off due to overvoltage.
^ Cutout via the on-board electrical system (consumer shutoff)
In order to prevent the battery from discharging in all driving cycle phases, the state of charge in the on-board electrical system is evaluated continuously. Consumers that require a high amount of current are switched off according to a fixed sequence by the vehicle power supply control unit (N82/1) until undervoltage is no longer present. The same is true for the seat ventilation.
