The service code is displayed in the multifunction display (A1p13). It refers to the time involved for the service scope and classified from A to H. Signification:
- Code A denotes a service scope of up to 1 h
- Code B denotes a service scope of up to 2 h
- Code B denotes a service scope of up to 8 h
The service scope can be determined in 3 different ways:
- Via the instrument cluster (A1) the workshop code can be read out and this can be entered into the Workshop Information System (WIS). WIS breaks down this workshop code and determines the service scope and the additional operations to be performed for the vehicle. These are then preselected in the WIS.
- The workshop code can be read out and noted via the instrument cluster. The stored service items can be looked up and allocated using the service booklet.
- The service operation can access the Active Service System Plus (ASSYST PLUS) data using STAR DIAGNOSIS. ASSYST PLUS is switched to the diagnosis state for this purpose.
The following actions are possible in diagnosis mode:
- Output of the operations to be performed for this service. A list of all the operations to be performed at this service date is generated.
- Configuration of the maintenance items. Maintenance items can be configured by activating or deactivating them. Here, the corresponding weighting of all the other data for the item (e.g. scheduled maintenance, exceeding limit, weighting) with plausible values must be assigned in the maintenance item by STAR DIAGNOSIS.
- Confirmation of services performed. And identifier is set for the corresponding maintenance items indicating that this service has been performed.
- Reversing an unintentional confirmation of maintenance items. The resetting of a maintenance item (maintenance confirmed) is possible once within one service period.
- Reading out the service memory. This provides information about maintenance that has already been performed.
- If the central gateway control unit (N93) is replaced, all the relevant data are backed up by STAR DIAGNOSIS and transferred to the new central gateway control unit.
