GF40.15-P-2004SX Detecting Rapid Pressure Loss, Function

GF40.15-P-2004SX Detecting rapid pressure loss, function
MODELS 221 with CODE (475) Tire pressure monitor (Siemens)

Function
A tire defect must be assumed if a continued pressure loss is established in a certain time section (gradient) while driving. In this case a warning is triggered even before triggering criterion for the hard warning is reached. As a rule the warning ensues at the latest 60 seconds after the start of a pressure loss of more than 0.2 bar/min and is displayed as a warning message (red) "Caution: tire defect" in the multifunction display (A1p13) in the instrument cluster (A1).

Erasure condition
During an ignition sequence the warning can be canceled by successful filling detection or manual reactivation. With an ignition restart following a leak warning the tire pressure monitor warning lamp (A1e66) in the instrument cluster is actuated first. If after the start of a journey new pressure values exist and no warning criterion is met, the tire pressure monitor warning lamp is switched off and the warning information erased. The warning is canceled by successful filling detection or by manual reactivation.
