Component Identification:

Function requirements for actuating the steering column in the exit position
^ Function of easy entry/exit is activated
^ Removing the transmitter key (A8/1) from the EIS [EZS] control unit when the driver door is closed or
^ Opening the driver door with circuit 15R or circuit 15C

Actuation of the steering column in the exit position
To make it easier to disembark from the vehicle, the steering column is moved into the disembarkation position (steering column upwards) when the function requirements are met.

The steering column up/down motor is actuated via the front SAM control unit.

Function requirements for actuating the steering column into the driving position
^ Function of easy entry/exit is activated
^ Insertion of transmitter key into the EIS [EZS] control unit when the driver door is closed or
^ change from circuit 15C to circuit 15R when the driver door is closed
^ change from circuit 15R to circuit when driver door is closed or
^ when closing the driver door with circuit 15

Actuation of the steering column in the driving position
In order to move the steering column into the driving position after disembarkation, the steering column is moved into the driving position (steering column downwards) when the function requirements are met The steering column up/down motor is actuated via the front SAM control unit.

^ Manual steering column adjustment
^ Adjustment of the steering column via memory (with code (275)
Memory package (driver seat, steering column, mirrors))

Apart from the steering column the driver seat is also adjusted when the easy entry/exit is actuated.

Repetition safeguard
The alternate insertion and removal of the transmitter key leads to an interplay between approaching the driving position and the entry/exit position. In order to avoid this, the number is limited to 5 cycles. The counter is reset if the transmitter key is turned to circuit 15R On or the door status is changed.
