GF27.10-P-3012SXA Power Flow In 2nd Gear, Function

GF27.10-P-3012SXA Power flow in 2nd gear, function
- Transmission 722.6

Principle of power transmission in 2nd gear
Via the drive shaft (1) and involving the center and rear planetary gear set the torque coming from the torque converter is increased and is transmitted to the output shaft (5).

The following are not engaged:
^ Multi-disk brake B1 (21)
^ Multi-disk brake B3 (23)
^ Freewheel F1 (27)
^ Multi-disk clutch K2 (25)

Front planetary gear set
The planet carrier (29/3) and sun gear (29/1) are permanently connected to each other via the engaged multi-disk clutch K1 (24). The front planetary gear set is consequently blocked and due to the mechanical connection between the ring gear (29/4) and drive shaft (1) rotates at input speed as a closed assembly.

Rear planetary gear set
The ring gear (31/4) rotates at input speed due to the mechanical connection to the planet carrier (29/3). The sun gear (31/1) is supported via the engaged multi-disk brake B2 (22) and in drive mode via the locked freewheel F2 (28), in overrun mode via the engaged multi-disk clutch K3 (26) on the housing. The planetary gears (31/2) revolve around the stationary sun gear (31/1) and ensure that torque is increased when power is transmitted from the ring gear (31/4) to the planet carrier (31/3). The planet carrier (31/3) moves at reduced speed in the direction of rotation of the engine.

Center planetary gear set
Due to a mechanical connection the hollow gear (30/4) is driven at the same rotational speed as the planet carrier (31/3). The sun gear is supported at the housing via the multi-disk brake B2 (22) 30/1

The planetary gears (30/2) revolve around the stationary sun gear (30/1) and ensure that torque is increased when power is transmitted from the ring gear (30/4) to the planet carrier (30/3). The output shaft (5) connected to the planet carrier (30/3) turns at a reduced speed in the direction of rotation of the engine.
