The torque converter lockup PWM solenoid valve is located on the supporting body of the electric control unit and is pressed against the shift plate valve body by a leaf spring.

Task
The task of the torque converter lockup PWM solenoid valve is to control the pressure for the torque converter lockup clutch.

Component Identification:

Design
The torque converter lockup PWM solenoid valve is sealed towards the shift plate valve body by an O-ring and a gap seal (arrow). The contact springs in the torque converter lockup PWM solenoid valve engage in a slot in the conductor tracks. Reliable contacting is guaranteed by the spring force of the contact springs.

Function
It converts a pulse-width modulated current actuated by the ETC [EGS] control unit (N15/3) into the corresponding hydraulic torque converter lock-up clutch control pressure.
