Tasks
The power soft top control module (N52) controls opening and closing of the Vario roof
This is accomplished via
^ the Vario roof actuation switch (S84s1) or
^ the control key (A8/1) with an infrared signal (IR signal) (with code (880a) Closing system with infrared remote control).

Control
^ Open soft top mechanism hydraulic unit (A7/5) with Vario roof relay (A7/5k1), close with Vario roof relay (A7/5k2) as well as the Vario roof solenoid valve (A7/5y1)
^ Left rear power window motor (M10/5)
^ Right rear power window motor (M10/6)
^ Output of function and warning displays via the controller area network bus class B (passenger compartment (CAN B), indicated in the instrument cluster (A1)

Signals via CAN B bus
The power soft top control module (N52) transmits and receives signals via the CAN B bus

The most important signals:
^ Locking front Vario roof via CAN B bus with overhead control panel control module (N70).
^ Rotary tumbler as well as lock pawl of trunk lid lock closed with rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module Fond (N10/2) via CAN B bus.
^ Shift position of Vario roof actuation switch (S84s1) with overhead control panel control module (N72/1) via CAN B bus.
^ Speed signal from instrument cluster via CAN-B bus (A1).
^ Actuation of left front power window motor (M10/3) with left door control module (N69/1) via CAN-B bus
^ Actuation of right front power window motor (M10/4) with right front door control module (N69/2) via CAN B bus
