Address book supplemental information
The user can manage all the contact data in the address book (view, edit, add, delete and create). The address book contains the address entries stored in the COMAND controller unit. A mobile phone connected to the connector can also load data (names and standard numbers) from the mobile phone's telephone book into the COMAND controller unit's address book.
The data from the mobile phone's telephone book is also permanently available, even when the mobile phone is no longer attached to the connector.
Address entries can only be removed by deleting individual entries or by deleting the entire address book.
The Bluetooth interface of the mobile phone and the Bluetooth antenna (A2/91) can be used to transmit data from other external devices (e.g. PDA, laptop, etc.) into the address book. The COMAND controller unit's PCMCIA slot can be used to transfer vCards from a PCMCIA card into the address book.
These data are then permanently available as address entries. Address-relevant mobile phone system applications can be directly started and supplied with the stored data via address book entries. Address entries can contain the following:
^ Names (surname and first name)
^ Postal addresses (private or business)
^ Telephone numbers (private, business, fixed-line network, mobile or car)
^ 2 email addresses
^ One URL address
^ Geo position (private or business)
^ Company name
^ Notes
^ URL
A total of 150 entries with voice commands (voice tags) is available for the voice control system. The address book displays the address entries stored in the COMAND controller unit and the data loaded from the mobile phone's telephone book.
"Private mode" supplemental information
When in "private mode" the user can make a telephone call without other vehicle occupants being able to hear the conversation. To make a call in "private mode", one of the following processes must be completed:
^ Disconnection of mobile phone from connector during a telephone call in handsfree mode
^ Call acceptance in handsfree mode and subsequent activation of "private mode" menu item via the Audio/ COMAND control panel and the Audio/COMAND display (A40/8) when the mobile phone is disconnected from the connector and operated via Bluetooth
^ Establishment of call using buttons on mobile phone when the mobile phone is disconnected from the connector and operated via Bluetooth
"Seamless Switch" supplemental information
"Seamless Switch" means either that an existing call on the mobile phone is not terminated when the phone is disconnected from the connector, or that an existing call is forwarded to the COMAND controller unit when the mobile phone is attached to the connector.
Toggle supplemental information
The user can switch back and forth between telephone calls with 2 people. While the user talks to one person on the line, the connection to the other is put on hold. However, voice transmission is interrupted.
