Function requirements:
^ "Circuit 15 ON" status
^ COMAND controller unit (A40/3) activated via "ON" button
^ "TV" menu selected
^ TV-antenna signals available

General information
The TV mode enables the vehicle to pick up television channels on the Japanese National Television System Committee (NTSC) frequency range and to view them on the Audio/COMAND display (A40/8). The interface is generated and displayed by the COMAND controller unit.

The TV picture is switched off as from a speed of 5 km/h. When the vehicle is moving, only acoustic playback remains active and - for safety reasons - a warning is shown on the Audio/COMAND display.

TV mode function sequence
The antenna signals for TV reception are received by the following amplifiers:
^ TV 1 antenna amplifier and DAB Band III (A94/1)
^ TV 2 antenna amplifier and KEYLESS GO (A94/2)
^ TV 3 antenna amplifier (A94/3)

The received antenna signals are sent via a discrete line to the TV tuner control unit (N143) and then forwarded via a discrete line to the COMAND controller unit. The COMAND controller unit sends the antenna signals via a low voltage differential signal (LVDS) line to the Audio/COMAND display. The audio signals are transmitted by the COMAND controller unit in vehicles with code (810) Sound system to the sound system amplifier control unit (N40/3) over the Media Oriented System Transport (MOST).
From there, the audio signals are transmitted via discrete lines to the following speakers:
^ Left front door speaker (H4/1)
^ Right front door speaker (H4/2)
^ Left rear door speaker (H4/3)
^ Right rear door speaker (H4/4)
^ Center instrument panel speaker (H4/27)
^ Bass speaker (H4/29)
^ Left rear surround speaker (H4/54)
^ Right rear surround speaker (H4/57)

In vehicles except code (810) Sound system, the audio output takes place directly from the COMAND controller unit via discrete lines to the following speakers:
^ Left front door speaker
^ Right front door speaker
^ Left rear door speaker
^ Right rear door speaker
^ Center instrument panel speaker
