Front fog lamp actuation, general
Front fog lamp actuation comprises the following subfunctions:
^ Front fog lamp actuation
^ Rear fog lights actuation

Front fog lamp actuation

Function requirements
^ Circuit 30
^ Exterior lights switch (S1) in standing lights/manual driving lights position (United States Of America) only in manual driving lights position) and pulled out to the 1st detent

Front fog lamp actuation function sequence
The position of the exterior lights switch is read in by the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) via instrument panel LIN.

The front SAM control unit actuates the following components:
^ Left front fog lamp (E5/1)
^ Right front fog lamp (E5/2)

Feedback:
The front SAM control unit actuates the front fog lamp indicator lamp (S1e1) in the exterior lights switch via instrument panel LIN.

Rear fog lights actuation

Function requirements
^ Circuit 30
^ Exterior lights switch in manual driving lights position and pulled out to the 2nd detent

Rear fog lamp actuation function sequence
The position of the exterior lights switch is read in by the front SAM control unit via instrument panel LIN.
The front SAM control unit forwards the switch-on request to the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) and to the trailer recognition control unit (N28/1) (with code (550) Trailer hitch) via interior CAN.

The rear SAM control unit then actuates the left rear fog light (E3e5).

The trailer recognition control unit actuates the rear fog light on the trailer via the trailer socket (X58) (with code (550) Trailer hitch). During trailer operation, the left rear fog light on the vehicle is not actuated.

Feedback:
The front SAM control unit actuates the rear fog light indicator lamp (S1e2) in the exterior lights switch via instrument panel LIN.
