GF88.79-P-2008CW Mirror Lens Adjustment Left/Right Outside Mirror, Function

GF88.79-P-2008CW Mirror Lens Adjustment Left/right Outside Mirror, Function
- up to model year 08

Function sequence for left/right outside mirror lens adjustment, general
The left/right outside mirror lens adjustment includes a number of partial functions. These are:
^ Adjust mirror lens
^ Store/call up mirror position (with code (275) Memory package (driver seat, steering column, mirrors))

Function requirements
^ Term. 15R
^ No overvoltage/undervoltage

Function sequence for adjustment mirror lens
The left outside mirror (M21/1) and right outside mirror (M21/2) can be adjusted manually via the power window and outside mirror adjustment switch group (S20).
The corresponding outside mirror is selected with the left outside mirror adjustment switch (S20s10) or right outside mirror adjustment switch (S20s11).
The selected outside mirror is indicated by an LED in the outside mirror adjustment switch.
The selected outside mirror can be adjusted to the desired position with the outside mirror adjustment switch (S20s12).The position can be adjusted horizontally as well as vertically.

The adjustment request is read in via the left door LIN by the left front door control unit (N69/1) which relays the information for the right outside mirror to the right front door control unit (N69/2) via the interior CAN.
The left front door control unit actuates the:
- vertical inclination adjustment actuator motor (M21/1m1) and the
- horizontal inclination adjustment actuator motor (M21/1m2).
The right front door control unit actuates the:
- vertical inclination adjustment actuator motor (M21/2m1) and the
- horizontal inclination adjustment actuator motor (M21/2m2).

Function sequence for storing/calling up mirror lens position

Function sequence for storing mirror lens position
The manually adjusted position for mirror lenses can be stored via the
^ left front memory 1 switch (S22s7) or
^ left front memory 2 switch (S22s8) or
^ left front memory 3 switch (S22s9)

The memory request is read in by the left front door control unit via the left front door LIN and relayed to the driver seat control unit (N32/1) via the interior CAN.

It stores the current position of the mirror lenses in the corresponding front door control unit using the values from the
^ vertical inclination adjustment potentiometer (M21/1r2)
^ horizontal inclination adjustment potentiometer(M21/1r3)
^ vertical inclination adjustment potentiometer (M21/2r2)
^ horizontal inclination adjustment potentiometer(M21/2r3)

Procedure for storing:
^ Adjust mirror lenses as desired
^ Actuate left front memory function switch (S22s6) fort ≤ 40 ms
^ Actuate one of the memory switches within t < 3 s

Function sequence for calling up mirror glass position
A stored mirror lens position can be called up via one of the memory switches.
For this purpose, actuate one of the memory switches until the mirror moves to the stored position.

Actuation of one of the memory switches is read in by the left front door control unit and relayed to the driver seat control unit via interior CAN.
It requests the front door control units to move to the stored position via the interior CAN.
