Mobile phone system with code (379) Telephone module with Bluetooth SAP
A Bluetooth(R) mobile telephone adapter is plugged onto the Bluetooth module (with code 386) Comfort telephony).
The Bluetooth(R) mobile telephone adapter supports the SIM Access Profile (SAP).
Operation and system behavior match the mobile phone system with code (386) Comfort telephony, with the exception of the following special features:
^ Authorize
^ "SAP telephone" menu entry
^ signal curve

Authorize
The Bluetooth(R) mobile telephone adapter is connected using the "Connect SAP module"entry in the "Telephone" menu to the COMAND controller unit (A40/3) (authorized).
Proceed as follows for authorization:
- Select Bluetooth(R) mobile telephone adapter from a list
- Enter any password into the COMAND controller unit
- Repeat password on Bluetooth(R) mobile telephone adapter
- Enter Personal Identification Number (PIN) of Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) card into COMAND controller unit (the PIN can be stored depending on the telephone)
If a SIM card is not plugged in to the Bluetooth(R) mobile telephone adapter, the Bluetooth(R) mobile telephone adapter can use a SIM card of a Bluetooth-compatible mobile phone in the vehicle, if the mobile phone supports the SIM Access Profile.
As soon as Bluetooth(R) mobile telephone adapter is connected to the COMAND controller unit, the "Connect SAP module" menu entry is replaced by "Disconnect SAP module".

"SAP telephones" menu entry
The "SAP telephones" menu entry leads to a list of devices which matches the list for Bluetooth(R) telephony. Special features of the SAP module unit list are the "Save PIN" and "Ring tones" functions under "Options". In "Ring tones", one of eight ring tones can be selected on the Bluetooth(R) mobile telephone adapter for the telephony via the Bluetooth(R) mobile telephone adapter.

signal curve
The Bluetooth(R) mobile telephone adapter communicates directly over the Bluetooth antenna (A2/91) to the COMAND controller unit.
The Bluetooth module is used by the Bluetooth(R) mobile telephone adapter for the power supply and for connection to the telephone antenna only.
The Bluetooth(R) mobile telephone adapter sends the telephone signals over the following channel to the mobile telephone network:
- Bluetooth module
- E-net compensator (A28/3)
- Telephone/cell phone/STH radio remote control antenna splitter (A2/53) (model 221 with code (228) Stationary heater)
- Telephone antenna
On model 216 the radio signal for the stationary heater is received by the separate stationary heater antenna (Telestart) (A2/27).

Address book
The address book contains the address entries stored in the COMAND controller unit. The user can manage all the contact data in the address book (view, edit, add, delete and create). The data from the telephone book of the mobile phone can also be imported into the address book of the COMAND controller unit. The data from the mobile phone's telephone book are therefore also available, even if the mobile phone is no longer inserted in UPCI [UHI] cell phone holder. Address entries can only be removed by deleting individual entries or by deleting the entire address book.
The Bluetooth interface of the mobile phone and the Bluetooth antenna can also be used to transmit data from other external devices (e.g. PDA, laptop) into the address book. These data are then permanently available as address entries.
As of 1.6.09: The call lists are automatically loaded to the temporary memory via the Phonebook Access Profile (PBAP) transfer protocol.
The address book is automatically copied to the COMAND controller unit in the background and is stored for this mobile phone. This address book can only be called up if it matches the assigned mobile phone.
When a mobile phone is reconnected, the corresponding address book is displayed. Synchronization with the mobile phone takes place again in the background and the address book is updated.
The address-relevant applications for telephony can be started directly via the address book entries and provided with the data stored. The address book is called up through the basic "Tel" function as follows:
- "Data/connections"
- "Address book"
Address entries can contain the following:
- Names (surname and first name)
- Postal addresses (private or business)
- Telephone numbers (pager (with code (389) Mobile phone preinstallation with universal interface, USA/Canada), private, business, landline, mobile or car)
- Geo position (private or business)
- Company name
