GF54.50-P-0001SX Trip Computer (TRIP), Function
- up to model year 08
The trip computer (RRE) is integrated in the instrument cluster (A1). The display ensues via the multifunction display (A1p13) of the instrument cluster. It is possible to access the 2 following data memories:
^ Short-distance memory (from start)
^ Long-distance memory (from reset)
The contents of the short-distance memory are shown in the multifunction display in the display screen "since start", the contents of the long-distance memory are shown in the multifunction display in the display screen "since reset". The transmitter key (A8/1) must be turned to position 2 (circuit 15 ON) for the trip computer to be operational.
The following functions are made available by the trip computer:
^ Display and determination of estimated range
^ Display and determination of average fuel consumption
^ Display of distance covered
^ Display of trip time
The data of the average fuel consumption, trip time and the travel distance are stored separately in the short-distance and long-distance memories. The provisional range is displayed on another display screen in the multifunction display. Once the trip computer system is exited the screen last displayed in the multifunction display appears when the trip computer system is called up again.
Operation
The trip computer is operated via the system selection button (S110s3), scroll forward/back button (S110s1), OK button (S110s6) as well as via the "Back" and SBS off button (S110s4) of the multifunction steering wheel (MFL).
The instrument cluster receives the information required for the functions of the trip computer via the central CAN. In addition the left tank half fuel level sensor (B4/1) and right tank half fuel level sensor (B4/2) are read in discretely.
