GF40.15-P-2005SX Detection of Pressure Loss, Function
GF40.15-P-2005SX Detection of pressure loss, function
- except CODE (494) USA version [model 216.3, 221.1]
- with CODE (477) Tire pressure loss warning [model 221.1]
Function
The ESP control unit (N47-5) compares the 4 wheel speeds depending on the tire inflation pressure. A learning phase follows reactivation. In this phase in 6 different vehicle speed intervals the relative rolling circumferences of the tires are taught in. The tire pressure loss warning (RDW) system is not active in this learning process.
The learning phase of the individual intervals takes about 10 minutes. As of this point in time the respective following tires are compared with each other:
^ LF and RR
^ RF and LR
Warning message shown on model 221 up to 31.8.06
This message is shown in the multifunction display (A1p13) if the tire pressure loss warning system has detected while driving that the rolling circumferences of the wheels have changed relative to each other (considerable pressure loss in a tire).
Information message shown on model 221 up to 31.8.06
This message is shown in the multifunction display after a warning message when the tire pressure loss warning system has not been reactivated.
