GF27.10-P-2010SX Kick-Down, Function
GF27.10-P-2010SX Kick-down, function
- Transmission 722.9
Component Identification:
kick down, function
The driver's wish for the maximum vehicle acceleration is met by the kick down function.
The kick-down function is activated from a pedal travel at the electronic accelerator greater than approx. 90 %.
When the electronic accelerator is pressed the driver will notice an increased back pressure at the kick down point For this purpose a kick-down simulator is integrated in the electronic accelerator.
The "Kick-down" signal is recorded by the accelerator pedal sensor, read in by one of the following control units and passed on via the drive train CAN to the fully integrated transmission control (VGS) control unit:
^ CDI control unit (N3/9), model 221
^ ME-SFI [ME] control unit, model 216, 221
Based on this information the fully integrated transmission control (VGS) control unit actuates the control solenoid valves so that the upshifts and downshifts take place at higher engine speeds in order to achieve maximum performance.
