Location
Each shift group has its own holding pressure shift valve.

The holding pressure shift valve 1-2/4-5 and 2-3 holding pressure shift valve are installed in the valve housing, the 3-4 holding pressure shift valve is in the valve body of the shift plate.

Task
Each holding pressure shift valve assigns working pressure to an actuator of a shifting group.








Function
The holding pressure shift valve is engaged by the pressure applied at the end face in the actuators and by spring force. It allocates the working pressure to the actuator with the higher pressure (taking the spring force and effective area into account).

The other element of the shift group is then unpressurized. The holding pressure shift valve is only shifted during the shift phase and only at a specific pressure ratio of overlap pressure to shift pressure.
