GF82.85-P-2007QMU Telephone Mode, Function
- with CODE (530) COMAND APS USA (with navigation system)
- with CODE (387) Preinstallation for telephone "Handy", UPCI system, USA/Canada

Component Identification:

The telephone system can be operated as follows:
^ Directly at the COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3)
^ Using the multifunction steering wheel (MFL) in combination with the multifunction display in the instrument cluster (A1)
^ Over the voice control system (VCS [SBS]) (with code (813) Voice control system (VCS [SBS]))

The cell phone signals are transmitted and received over the telephone antenna (A2/22 or A2/49a1) and amplified by the E-net compensator (A28/3). The display of the COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3) shows the reception field strength in 5 grades, provided the telephone is operational. All control signals and useful signals (e.g. sound signals with hands- free system activated) are transmitted via the media-oriented system transport (MOST). This is why the portable CTEL requires the Universal Portable CTEL Interface (UPCI [UHI]) control unit (N123/1) as an interface to the Media Oriented System Transport (MOST).

The COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3) has the following telephone functions:
^ Automatic disabling of telephone card when the personal identification number (PIN) is entered incorrectly 3 times
^ Direct dialing of the telephone number with the rotary sensor or numerical keypad, display of name of party being called (when number entered is known).
^ Speed dial: The first 10 memory locations can be dialed by pressing one key only (speed dial), all other memory locations can be dialed by entering the respective 3-digit memory location number
^ Dialing from lists in the memory
- Memory location numbers
- Names (alphabetic)
- List of the 10 numbers dialed last
