Automatic actuation of dome lamps
Automatic actuation of the front dome lamp (N70e1) takes place when it is dark by
^ Unlocking the entire vehicle
^ Unlocking the driver's door
^ Opening an unlocked door
^ Removing the transmitter key (A8/1) from the EIS control unit (N73)
Ambient lamp
As of 1.12.04 an ambient lamp (A67e3) is installed that is used for ambiance illumination. The ambient lamp (A67e3) is switched on and off by changes to the status of circuit 15R.
When the driver door or the entire vehicle is unlocked and when the transmitter key (A8/1) is removed, the front dome lamp (N70e1) that is integrated in the overhead control panel control unit (N70) is switched on (dimmed).
Information concerning the current ambient light conditions is required for automatic actuation of the front dome lamp (N70e1) by means of unlocking or opening the doors or removing the transmitter key (A8/1). The overhead control panel control unit (N70) reads out the rain/light sensor (B38/2).
In vehicles with code (551) Anti-theft alarm system (ATA), an alarm triggers not just the optical and acoustic ATA alarm but also the automatic dome lamp actuation for the front dome lamp (N70e1).
The front dome lamp (N70e1) is then immediately switched on irrespective of the ambient light and without being dimmed.
No automatic actuation takes place if there is undervoltage or overvoltage in order to protect the battery (G1) and the front dome lamp (N70e1).
A previously triggered actuation is immediately canceled - unless it was triggered by an ATA alarm
The automatic dome lamp actuation can be switched off using the dome lamp switch (N70s3) integrated into the overhead control panel control unit (N70).
Automatic actuation of the entrance/exit lamps in the doors
Automatic actuation of the left door entrance/exit lamp (E17/3) and the right door entrance/exit lamp (E17/4) is triggered by opening the doors when it is dark. Only the entrance/exit lamp of the door that has been opened is switched on. Information concerning the current ambient lighting conditions is needed by the rain/light sensor (B38/2) for actuation, as it is for front dome lamp (N70e1) actuation.
