Telephone switch-on/switch-off characteristics as a Media Oriented System Transport (MOST) ring participant
The telephone switch-On/Off characteristics depends on:
^ "ON" requirement of the radio control panel and navigation unit (A2/56) or the COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3) via the audio gateway control unit (N93/1) through the wake-up line
^ Idle mode and an incoming call with plugged in telephone
^ the selected wake-up interval (automatic wake-up call)
^ With telecommunications control unit (N112) and code (383) MB phone "Standard" in console on right side of tower with integrated emergency call system TELEAID, hands-free system and antenna
- Diagnosis request via CAN diagnosis (CAN-D)
- Alarm call
- Telediagnosis

^ Circuit 15R with telephone interface (A34/4)
- if the portable CTEL (A34/6) is inserted in the bracket when switched on
- if the portable CTEL (A34/6) is inserted and switched on by pressing the button

Information regarding the status of circuit 15 is transmitted to the telephone interface (A34/4) or the telecommunications control unit (N112) via the audio gateway control unit (N93/1) and the radio control panel and navigation unit (A2/56) or the COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3) to the MOST ring. The telephone interface (A34/4) and the telecommunications control unit (N112) do not have an electric connection to circuit 15.

The telephone control units are activated upon request of the radio control panel and navigation unit (A2/56), the COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3) through an external wake-up line.

With "Circuit 15C OFF", the telecommunications control unit (N112) or the telephone interface (A34/4) remains switched on for a run-on time of t = 30 min and is then switched off.

System characteristics
The telephone interface (A34/4) or the telecommunications control unit (N112) has 3 operating conditions:
^ Power down mode
The interface is switched off with the exception of the external wake-up line
^ Idle mode or run-on time mode
The remaining components of the MOST ring are switched off; only the interface remains active for t = 10 minutes after the MOST ring is switched off. Pressing any key during the run-on time increases the run-on time by t = 30 min.
^ Active mode
The interface as well as the remaining components of the MOST ring are active and available to the user.

Switch-off procedure
The telephone interface (A34/4) or the telecommunications control unit (N112) is in the idle mode and the MOST ring is switched off. The telephone interface (A34/4) remains switched off as long as no portable CTEL (A34/6) is plugged in.

The following cases are possible depending on the status of circuit 15:
^ Circuit 15R OFF
The interface switches off (power down mode) after the run- on time of t = 30 min has elapsed (no further buttons pressed, e.g. on portable CTEL (A34/6) within the run-on time). In this case, the status of the portable CTEL (A34/6) plugged in does not change, meaning that when a portable CTEL (A34/6) is plugged in and switched on, it remains switched on and is not switched off by the interface.

^ Circuit 15C
OFF The interface switches off (power down mode) after the run- on time of t = 30 min has elapsed (no further buttons pressed, e.g. on portable CTEL (A34/6) within the run-on time). In the process the status changes, in other words a plugged in and switched on portable CTEL is switched off by the interface.

When the MOST ring is deactivated, the telephone interface (A34/4) is switched off when no portable CTEL (A34/6) is plugged in or a portable CTEL (A34/6) is plugged in but not switched on. The telephone interface (A34/4) remains active for the run-on time when a switched on portable CTEL (A34/6) is plugged in.
