1 Detach coupling housing (35) from plug (34) of SDAR wiring harness (30).

The coupling housing (35) is still required.

Component Identification:

2.1 On vehicles without a UPCI [UHI] control unit, detach coupling (38) of on-board wiring harness (37) from the control unit plate.
2.2 On vehicles with a UPCI [UHI] control unit, detach coupling (38) of on-board wiring harness (37) from the UPCI [UHI] control unit.
3 Release lock (see arrow) at side of coupling (38) and pull 20- pin contact carrier (39) of on-board wiring harness (37) out of coupling (38).

4 Remove pink line (rs) of on-board wiring harness (37) from contact cavity 18 of the 20- pin contact carrier (39) and insert into contact cavity 1 of coupling housing (35).
5 Connect coupling housing (35) to plug (34) of SDAR wiring harness (30).
6 Insert wake-up pin (33) of SDAR wiring harness (30) into contact cavity 18 of the 20-pin contact carrier (39).







7 Install 20-pin contact carrier (39) of on-board wiring harness (37) into coupling (38).

Note installation position of 20-pin contact carrier (39) in coupling (38) and latch lock (see arrow) into place.

8.1 On vehicles without a UPCI [UHI] control unit, connect coupling (38) of on-board wiring harness (37) to the control unit plate.
8.2 On vehicles with a UPCI [UHI] control unit, connect coupling (38) of on-board wiring harness (37) to the UPCI [UHI] control unit.

9 Route SDAR wiring harness (30) as per picture into luggage compartment and fasten such that it does not chafe.
10 Connect fuse carrier (31) of SDAR wiring harness (30) as per picture to fuse holder and assign it a 5 A fuse.

The slot for fuse carrier (31) on fuse holder is color coded.

11 Install coupling (36) of SDAR wiring harness (30) into coupling housing (21) of MOST fiber optic cable wiring harness (20) (see arrow).







12 Route SDAR wiring harness (30) and MOST fiber optic cable wiring harness (20) as per picture to the SDAR control unit (1) and connect the coupling housing (2) to the SDAR control unit (1).
13 Position ground connection (32) of SDAR wiring harness (30) together with on-board ground terminals to ground terminal stud and fasten in place using nut (14).
14 Attach all retrofitted wiring harnesses as per picture using self-adhesive felt to the bracket for the SDAR control unit (1).
15.1 On vehicles with reinforcement (35), install the reinforcement (35) and tighten bolts (34) as per picture.

On vehicles equipped with AIRmatic, make sure that the air line (36) is not damaged.
