Component Identification:

The auto pilot system wiring harness (1) is routed to the front starting at the left of the luggage compartment.

4 Connect black, 1-pin coupling (sw) with red line (rt) from auto pilot system wiring harness to plug position 28 (see arrow in lower magnifying glass) on the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
5 Connect green (gn) 2-pin coupling with brown and brown/red line from auto pilot system wiring harness to plug position 11 (see arrow in upper magnifying glass) on the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).

Plug position 11 is marked in green.

6 Connect the brown (br) branch-off line from the auto pilot system wiring harness (1) to the ground (left wheelhouse in luggage compartment) (W6).
7 Route auto pilot system wiring harness (1) along vehicle's own wiring harnesses into the interior and fasten to vehicle's own wiring harnesses.

The blue and green color codings on the auto pilot system wiring harness (1) must match the identically colored markings on the vehicle's own wiring harnesses.

8 Fasten auto pilot system wiring harness (1) in interior as shown in the picture onto left wheelhouse on vehicle's own wiring harnesses.

9 Detach black 2-pin couplings of bass module speaker (H4/17) of standard wiring harness on bass module speaker (see lower magnifying glass).
10 Wrap felt tape around black 2-pin couplings for bass module speaker (H4/17) of standard wiring harness as shown and strap down onto rear shelf and fasten in place using felt tape (see arrows in magnifying glass top).
11 Route branch-off line for bass module speaker of auto pilot system wiring harness along the standard wiring harness to the bass module speaker on the rear shelf and connect the black 2-pin couplings for the bass module speaker (H4/17) on the bass module speaker (see lower magnifying glass).

12 Expose and cut standard white, 2-pin interior/sound system connector (X18/4) with blue line (bl) in the left rear cable duct.
13 Connect the white, 2-pin plug from the auto pilot system wiring harness (1) with the standard 2-pin coupling and route into the left rear cable duct.

The standard 2-pin plug is no longer required and strapped down in the cable duct.

14 Route auto pilot system wiring harness (1) further forwards in cable duct.

15 Expose and cut the pink (rs) and brown/pink (br/rs) lines of the standard wiring harness which is routed through the B-pillar to the left rear door as shown in the picture.

The lines have a cross-section of 1.5 mm2 and are twisted together. The area shown in the picture after the left rear speaker group connector sleeve (+ signal) (Z28/1) and left rear speaker group connector sleeve (- signal) (Z28/2) contains two wiring harnesses with pink (rs) and brown/pink (br/rs) lines which are twisted together and which have a cross-section of 1.5 mm2. Make sure that the wiring harness which extends through the B-pillar to the left rear door, is detached.

16 Connect the pink line (rs) of the standard wiring harness which is routed through the B-pillar to the left rear door, with the pink (rs) line from the auto pilot system wiring harness (1) using a solder connector.
17 Connect the brown/pink (br/rs) line of the standard wiring harness which is routed through the B-pillar to the left rear door, with the brown/pink (br/rs) line from the auto pilot system wiring harness (1) using a solder connector.
18 Use felt tape to insulate the pink (rs) line and brown/pink (br/rs) line of the standard wiring harness which is routed forward, and place in the cable duct.

19 Remove both pink lines out of the black, 10-pin wake-up signal connector (X30/8) from the auto pilot system wiring harness (1) and install in one of the chambers of the standard black, 10-pin wake-up signal connector (X30/8).

If there is no black, 10-pin wake-up signal connector (X30/8) installed in the cable duct, lock the black, 10-pin wake-up signal connector (X30/8) from the auto pilot system wiring harness (1) into the given bracket in the cable duct.

20.1 Vehicles without code (272) Telephone preinstallation (non-networked) incl. telephone antenna or code (273) Portable CTEL preinstallation (non-networked) VDA wiring
Strap down violet, 2-pin radio 'mute' plug distributor (X30/12) from auto pilot system wiring harness (1) in cable duct (no longer required)

20.2 Vehicles with code (272) Telephone preinstallation (non-networked) incl. telephone antenna or code (273) Portable CTEL preinstallation (non-networked) VDA wiring
- Expose and cut radio 'mute' plug distributor (X30/12) in the left front cable duct.
- Strap down plug of standard radio 'mute' plug distributor (X30/12) in the cable duct (no longer required).
- Connect plug of radio 'mute' plug distributor (X30/12) from auto pilot system wiring harness (1) with standard coupling of radio 'mute' plug distributor (X30/12) and place in cable duct.

21 Expose and cut white, 2-pin cockpit wiring harness and FFS connector (X18/35) in cable duct.
