The temperature sensor is located at the left rear on the variable intake manifold.

Task
The temperature sensor detects the intake air temperature to allow correction of the ignition angle and injection quantity.







The NTC resistor integrated in the temperature sensor alters its electrical resistance in line with the intake air temperature. The ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) evaluates the voltage signal produced according to the intake air temperature.

NTC means "Negative Temperature Coefficient", which means:The electrical resistance falls as the temperature rises (heat conductor).
