Component Identification:
Component Identification:
The auto pilot system wiring harness (1) is routed forward starting from the left of the luggage compartment.
5 Connect the black, 1-pin coupling (sw) with the red line (rt) of the auto pilot system wiring harness to plug position 28 (see arrow in magnifying glass at bottom) on the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
6 Connect green, 2-pin coupling (gn) with brown and brown/red line from the auto pilot system wiring harness to plug position 11 (see arrow in magnifying glass at top) on the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
Plug position 11 is marked in green.
7 Connect brown (br) branch-off line from the auto pilot system wiring harness (1) to ground (left wheelhouse in luggage compartment) (W6).
8 Route auto pilot system wiring harness (1) along on-board wiring harnesses into the left rear footwell and attach to the on-board wiring harnesses.
The blue and green color codings on the auto pilot system wiring harness (1) must line up with the identically colored markings on the on-board wiring harness
9 Fasten auto pilot system wiring harness (1) as shown in the picture onto left wheelhouse and to on-board wiring harnesses.
10 Expose and separate the standard, white, 2-pin interior/sound system connector (X18/4) with blue (bl) line in the left rear cable duct.
11 Connect the white, 2-pin plug from the auto pilot system wiring harness (1) with the standard installed, 2-pin coupling and route into the left rear cable duct.
The standard installed, 2-pin plug connector is no longer required and strapped down in the cable duct.
12 Route auto pilot system wiring harness (1) further forward in the cable duct.
13 Expose and separate pink (rs) and brown/pink (br/rs) lines of standard installed wiring harness, which is routed through the B-pillar to the left rear door as shown in the picture.
The lines have a cross section of 1.5 mm2 and are twisted with each other. It must be ensured that the wiring harness which is routed through the B-pillar to the left rear door is separated.
14 Use a solder connector to connect the pink line (rs) of the standard installed wiring harness, which is routed through the B-pillar to the left rear door, with the pink line (rs) from the auto pilot system wiring harness (1).
15 Use a solder connector to connect the brown/pink line (br/rs) of the standard installed wiring harness, which is routed through the B-pillar to the left rear door, with the brown/ pink line (br/rs) from the auto pilot system wiring harness (1).
16 Use felt tape to insulate the pink line (rs) and brown/pink line (br/rs) of the standard installed wiring harness, which is routed to the front, and route into the cable duct.
17 Detach both pink lines of black, 10-pin wake-up signal connector (X30/8) from auto pilot system wiring harness (1) and install into one of the chambers of the standard installed black, 10-pin wake-up signal connector (X30/8).
If there is no black, 10-pin wake-up signal connector (X30/8) installed in the cable duct, fasten the black, 10-pin wake-up signal connector (X30/8) from the auto pilot system wiring harness (1) in the given bracket in the cable duct.
18.1 Vehicles without code (272) Telephone preinstallation (non-networked) incl. telephone antenna or code (273) Portable CTEL preinstallation (non-networked), VDA wiring
Strap down violet, 2-pin radio 'mute' plug distributor (X30/12) from the auto pilot system wiring harness (1) in the cable duct (no longer required)
18.2 Vehicles with code (272) Telephone preinstallation (non-networked) incl. telephone antenna or code (273) Portable CTEL preinstallation (non-networked), VDA wiring
- Expose and separate radio 'mute' plug distributor (X30/12) in left front cable duct.
- Strap down plug of standard installed radio 'mute' plug distributor (X30/12) in the cable duct (no longer required).
- Connect plug of radio 'mute' plug distributor (X30/12) from auto pilot system wiring harness (1) with standard installed coupling of radio 'mute' plug distributor (X30/12) and place into cable duct.
19 Expose and detach white, 2-pin cockpit wiring harness and FFS connector (X18/35) in the cable duct.
The white, 2-pin coupling is no longer required and is strapped down in the cable duct.
20 Connect the white, 2-pin coupling of the auto pilot system wiring harness (1) with the white, 2-pin plug to the cockpit wiring harness and FFS connector (X18/35) and place into cable duct.
21 Connect brown line from auto pilot system wiring harness (1) to ground (left footwell) (W15/2).
22 Route the auto pilot system wiring harness (1) as shown in the picture in the center console and attach to the on-board wiring harnesses.
23 Wrap felt tape around the antenna line (17) and strap down (no longer required).
24 Remove brown, 8-pin coupling (18) from black coupling carrier (20).
25 Wrap felt tape around the black coupling carrier (20) and the white, 8-pin coupling (19) then strap down (no longer required).
26 Route the two white, 2-pin couplings of the right front door separation point (X35/2) and right rear door separation point (X35/4) as shown in the picture into the radio recess and shorten excess length.
Couplings are no longer required.
